Dunn Family Chocolates began in 1984 with a deep passion for crafting quality chocolate confections. Founder Rachel Dunn started small, picking wild blackberries with her two-year-old daughter and transforming them into chocolate cordials and truffles. Delivering her creations to local businesses, Rachel’s reach quickly grew, spanning a 300-mile radius within two years. By 1987, her chocolates were featured in Saks Fifth Avenue stores in San Francisco and New York.

Over the years, Dunn Family Chocolates has delighted customers worldwide, supplying luxury boutiques, elite clients, airlines, and businesses of all sizes. Their stickless Giant Caramel Apple debuted at Nordstrom Walnut Creek in 1989 and became a holiday favorite across the nation. In 1993, their peppermint-loving daughter, Estee, created Ebird’s Perfect Peppermint Chocolate Cookie, a multi award-winning confection with over 70 million sold to date.

In 2016, the company began crafting its own chocolate at scale using some of the most rare and flavorful cacao beans grown on the planet. Reflecting a deep commitment to ethical sourcing and Direct Trade pricing, this dedication enriches the lives of many small farmers, the Dunn Family Chocolates team, and their loyal customers.
